This is an All Time Greats Football League for Madden Football 2002. This is a 31 team league with 16 game seasons. We will advance every 3 days. Don't wait till the last minute,try setting up games before the week even arrives. I have never missed a game in over 100 leagues. Try and be responsible and get your games in thanks.


Audibleing-
We are setting a limit on auds. First off no audibleing before your line is set. Secondly no excessive audibleing. this mean you should limit audibleing to 1or 2 per play. I personally dont consider flipping a play at the line an audible so you could audible your play 1 time and flip it if need be. When using hot routes you should only hot route 1 receiver at max 2 and only on occassion. Also, it is fine to hot route rbs and te for blockign purposes.

Scoring
Under no situation do I want to see a score of 82 points for any team. If you get up by 35 points you should kick field goals, punt the ball, or kneel 4 times. If defensive or special teams has a chance take the score.

#1 WR Lineup
Your #1 WR May only line up in the #1 spot or the #2 spot. You may only use him in the #2 spot as a change up, meaning in only 1 or 2 formations. He may not line up in any other position at all, no Slot not as #4 or #5, Only as #1 or #2 .(your #1 Wr is the best on your roster) I never got this rule but i know you guys all like it. We will hold to it but it wont matter much here lol.

QB Running
No QB should run more than 5-10 times per game. This number is flexable dependant on the game situation. This does not mean you can whine your way into running 20 times a game with the QB. This number only fluctuates when you have no other option than to run or get sacked because your WR are all coveerd!!! 

Trades
All trades will be monitored. I keep plenty of back ups. Any trade where both owners are happy is fine. If your gonna destroy your team u better stay in the league and play them however. Only trades to be forced back are if 2 or more guys are caught in the act of collusion. We incourage trading. Be active!!!
 
 


Gameplay Rules
(these are rules that apply to game playing)
Cheese Play - any play or tactic that takes advantage of any A.I. flaw in Madden and allows for an unrealistic success rate of the play or tactic. (We hate the term cheese play (because it all reminds us of deadpool), but it is an unofficial word for taking advantage of flaws in the game) Some don't like 3-4 olb blitz u can do it with out shift. 4-3 tango try not to use this play all game, it makes some of the less skilled feel cheesed. Please don't make people complain. To many complaints I'll punt your ass like i was Ray Guy!

Straight Play - this essentially means the play in ATGFL strives to closely mirror the NFL, in strategy, play calling, and action on the playing field as much as possible. Teams that do not balance their pass/run strategy will most likely lose their team due to not playing realistic game.

ATGFL GAMEPLAY RULES

All owners are expected to diversify their games as much as possible. An NFL team does not run the same play 20 times a game, and neither should you. Open your game up. DIVERSIFY. Call a good smartly diversified game.
Play the game fairly and realistically. You know when you are not and so will the league commissioners as well as the other owners.
Owners need to be active and seek out their opponent. People who wait till the end of the week deadline on a regular basis will find the door quickly.
Every owner will be treated with common courtesy and respect from everyone in the league. This is an adult game, so behave as such.

Play Calling
You may call what plays you want to call, but we recommend that you try not to use the same few plays over and over again. There is no official limit to a play, just try to use best judgement.

4th Down Rule-
4th downs have been abused for to long. Here are the senerios for going for it on 4th down: 4th and inches inside the opponents 40 yard line (if you are down, tie, or up no more than 3 pionts), 4th and no more than 2 inside opponents 40 if your down more than 14 in either half (NOT down 14, more than 14), in the forth quarter u can only go for it on 4th down outside your own 40 if your down more than 14 till the 2 minute warning. At the 2 minute warning u can go for it at any time anywhere if your down!
Fakes
We will try banning punt fakes and blocks for this season. If u got major problems with that just learn to be a better play caller and don't get into a position of needing to do this.
 
Good Sportsmanship
If at anytime a team gets ahead of another team by 35 points, at that point the winning team is expected to play ball control and not score anymore. Run the clock down.You should allow adequate time for your opponent to select what player he will control before the snap.
If a team is clearly beaten, and the winning team runs the score up vs. downing the ball, they will be warned for unsportsmanlike play. The first violation results in a 1 game suspension. Next violation results in 2 game suspensions. Any other violation is removal from the league.
No team enjoys losing, but we all do lose. Just keep the scores respectable. 72-14 isn't acceptable and it makes a mockery of the ATGFL. Respect the other owners, and realize some teams do not have the talent regardless of how much you really could score.

Hurry Up Offense
The hurry up offense will not be allowed until the 2-minute warning of each half at which either team may use the hurry up.
Hurry up may be called to spike the ball to stop the clock at anytime.
In the 4th quarter if a team is behind by 14 points or more, they may go hurry up.
While in hurry up, you may not run a play to a player who is out of position. Example: while in hurry up you call an audible and your wide receiver lines up in the backfield as a running back and you hand off to him. This is not allowed.

Moving Players on Defense
There will be no moving (besides line shifting) before the snap period. If the offense runs motion audible to man defense so the player is picked up. And please u may shift from side to side but dont do it like 4 or 5 times so linemen get all scrambled!!! once or twice to a side if the guy audibles u can shift back. No single lineman shifting, the whole line must shift together.

Offensive Movement
Shifting players is allowed. Manipulating players and audibling to formations such as calling a I form, but showing at the line in 5 wide is not allowed. Motion should be for the play, and not for deciding what the cover will be.
If you call an audible, the audible will be called after the players are set at the line unless in hurry up mode.
What we are trying to avoid is an audible that sticks WR at HB or something messed up like that

Man-in-Motion
You can put any man in motion on any play you just can't pass to a man in motion. Period!

Special Teams-
Moving a DL individually while shifting the line at the same time to get 2 players on top of each other is not allowed. Don't even line shift on special teams please! You may control a player and at snap run him back near returner for blocking, but don't move the return man till the ball is kicked!

QB Kneeling Down at End of Game
No team may use the FG/Punt special teams play to break up the offensive call of kneeling down to run out the clock. This play of FG blocks will typically hit the QB before he can kneel. All other defenses are OK.
You can only use QB Kneel when there is less then 1:00 minute left in the game, UNLESS you are up by more then 35pts. and in the redzone, then it is recommended that you QB kneel instead of score.

Goal Line Offense or Defense
You can only use goal line formation when you are 10yds away from the endzone or in 3rd or 4th and 1 or less. (And thats the opponents 10 yardline not 90 yards away, please).

Player Subs
Players on offense cannot play defense and vise versa.
QB - can only line up at QB (not at punter like deadpool)
HB - can also play FB
FB - can also be played at HB or TE
WR - can only play WR spots.
TE - may play FB or WR.
OL may play any OL position (G,T,C)

Defense
DL may play any DL position (RE/LE/DT)
LB's may only play LB spots
CB/FS/SS only in CB/FS/SS spots
Special Teams
On special teams do not sub in a player at a position he is not aloud to play (like deadpool). You will be booted for this period. I know without fakes it dont have much baring but u just don't see wrs jamming down field to make tackles.

Onside Kicks
Onside kicks are allowed only if you are down 14 or more in the 4th quarter, and down MORE than 21 in the first half. And hi pooch kicks are totally banned!!!
***Exceptions***
You can onside kick at anytime within the final two minutes when you are losing.

Team Management
Roster Minimum: Each team is required to have no less than 37 players on its roster at all times. Teams are also required to maintain the position requirements defined on the "Overview" screen inside Madden. Keep the rosters full at end of season there can be trouble if roster is thin, thanks.

Stalling
No stalling until final 2 minute of each half, or if your killing your opponent. You can manage ball control by running the ball, but we all know what stalling is so please do not watch the clock tick down on purpose.
Sometimes it takes time to pick a play, but we all know what stalling is and we can all point it out. Let's just try to keep the ball control going without just watching the clock tick away. Since we only have 7 minute quarters we need this rule. Inside 2 minutes take the win, please!
 
To many complaints will get your ass punted!!!

If u run backwards to go forwards (looping) u will be shot, drug, then punted!!!
